The paths, maintained by \u003cbr\u003eAccess Shetland, traverse both public and private lands, allowing \u003cbr\u003epeople to enjoy the best Shetland scenery. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOne doesn’t go hiking in Shetland without a sweater or vest.  \u003cbr\u003eThe Barrey Hiking Vest began as a way for me to use some Shetland \u003cbr\u003eyarn from our friend Donna Smith, who lives on the isle of Burra in \u003cbr\u003eShetland. Donna’s yarn line, Langsoond, comes from sheep Donna \u003cbr\u003eraises with her father. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eThe colors I had from Donna were natural, and I wanted those colors \u003cbr\u003eto pop, so I used a Norwegian Lice Pattern for the body, and a simple \u003cbr\u003etwo-color diamond for a motif. Because of the Norwegain influences, I \u003cbr\u003eadopted the Old Norse name for the Isle of Burra - Barrey.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt looks great in the natural shades, but there are so many color \u003cbr\u003epossibilities with this vest that we asked the LCK test knitters to \u003cbr\u003echoose their own from the Lettlopi line we carry.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis garment is worked in the round from the hem up, with steeks for \u003cbr\u003ethe armholes and front. Stitches for the front band are picked up after \u003cbr\u003esteeking the center front.
