Vanilla is the New Black! An interesting Heel on two circular needles covered over 3 classes. In this class, students will learn how to knit a sock using the pattern Vanilla is the New Black by Anneh Fletcher.

If you are comfortable with casting on, casting off, knit stitch, purl stitch and you want to make a sock, then this is a great class for you! Experience with increases, decreases, picking up stitches, and short rows is helpful but not required.
Materials needed for this class include 100g of fingering weight yarn (purchased separately at Hot Springs Fiber Co), a pair of size 2 circular knitting needles (16" or 24" length), 2 removeable stitch markers, and a darning needle.
Class 1: Students will make ribbing decisions, begin knitting the leg
Class 2: Discussion of sock heel types, review written and charted instructions for the Vanilla is the New Black Heel, knit heel and begin knitting foot
Class 3: Types of toe construction, grafting the toe, finish the first sock.
